POSITION   : SECURITY GUARD, FSN-3

OPENING DATE  : May 7, 2009

CLOSING DATE  : Open till filled

WORK HOURS   : Full time, 48 hours/week

SALARY  : *Ordinarily Resident (OR):  B$13,374 per annum (Starting salary)  (Position Grade:  FSN-3)

LENGTH OF APPOINTMENT  : 18 Months
    
The Overseas Building Office of the U.S. Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan is seeking dynamic, action-oriented individuals for the above positions.

ORGANIZATION AND LOCATION: The duties of this position will be performed at the New Embassy Compound in Bandar Seri Begawan.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: Performs guard service to safeguard U.S. Government property and personnel. Reports security incidents and take immediate action as necessary. Other duties include but are not limited to: controls access to the construction site to authorized personnel only, maintains a log of all entrants, reacts to emergency situation in the event of fire, bomb treat, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1. Completion of primary school is required.
2. Minimum one year of guard related experience is required.
3. Level III (Good working knowledge) of English (Speaking/Reading) is required.
4. Level III (Good working knowledge) of Malay (Speaking/Reading) is required. 

The candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance and pass a medical checkup.
