    May 27, 2009 - Ambassador William Todd hosted a sixteen member delegation led by Dr. James Collin, the Director of The Center for Southeast Asian studies of Northern Illinois University (NIU). The delegation from NIU consisting of students and academic staff arrived in Brunei for a four day visit onMay 25th.

  • Trafficking in Persons Cover Trafficking in Persons Report 2009

    Secretary Clinton announced the release of the ninth annual Department of State Trafficking in Persons Report. The 175-country report is the most comprehensive worldwide report on the efforts of governments to combat severe forms of trafficking in persons, a modern-day form of slavery.

March 24 - More than a dozen Bruneians engaged in an hour long informal and lively discussion via Digital Video Conference on graduate study in the U.S. The event was held at the U.S. Embassy office in Bandar Seri Begawan. 2007 Fulbright scholar Zul Fakhri Maidy, an MA Journalism student at University of Missouri spoke to the group.

Visit to USS Ronald Reagan
As part of Ambassador William Todd’s initiative to enhance exchanges between U.S. and Bruneian officials, the U.S. Embassy’s Deputy Chief of Mission John McIntyre and Military Attache Colonel Karl Seabaugh led several senior RBAF officials, embassy staff and local media representatives for a tour aboard the USS Ronald Reagan.
