Hours of Operation

Interviews for non-immigrant visas are by appointment only every Friday.  Applicants must appear before 9:00am.  The process generally takes two to three hours.  If the visa is approved, applicants or their representative can usually pick up the passport at 4:00pm on the next business day. This is usually the following Monday, unless there is a holiday. Please note that te Embassy must retain visa applicants' passports during this processing time.

In certain emergency cases, or for students or business travelers who need to travel immediately, the Embassy may process exceptional cases Monday through Thursday.  Applicants with an urgent need to travel should contact the Consular Section at  consularbrunei@state.gov.  Whatever the reasons for travel, applicants must meet all other requirements.

Bruneian citizens travelling on regularly scheduled commercial carriers do not require a visa for business or pleasure trips to the United States of less than ninety days.  Click here for more information on travel by Bruneian citizens.
