DCM Alexander L. Barrasso

Mr. Alexander (Alex) Barrasso is currently assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan as Deputy Chief of Mission. His prior postings in the U.S. Foreign Service have included Colombia, Singapore and Chiang Mai. He also served as the Desk Officer for Burma while based in Washington, D.C.

Alex earned a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, and a M.A. from the Paul H. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies in 1999. The son of Italian immigrants, he was born and raised in New York City.

Alex resides in Brunei with his wife Brenda and their daughter. During his free time, Alex enjoys chess and exercising.
