From August 6-11, members of US Navy and Royal Brunei Armed Forces were involved in the annual bilateral maritime exercise. Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Exercise also known as 'CARAT' is an annual series of bilateral maritime training exercises between the United States and six Southeast Asia nations designed to build relationships and enhance the operational readiness of the participating forces. All five US Navy ships - USS Crommelin, USS Tortuga, USS Salvor, USS Hopper and US Coast Guard Vessel Sherman arrived at the Muara Commercial Wharf on Sunday morning.
The Orient Express, a contemporary band of the US Navy Seventh Fleet conducted a free public performance in Brunei on August 9th. The six piece ensemble peformed a series of jazz, classic and popular American music. The performance was held at the Auditorium Hall of the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports.View PHOTOS
