U.S. Senate Confirms Ambassador Scot A. Marciel as U.S. Envoy for ASEAN

On April 29, 2008 the Senate confirmed Scot A. Marciel for the position of Ambassador for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Affairs. The White House announced his appointment on February 25, 2008. The Ambassador for ASEAN Affairs will:

Provide overall leadership in the pursuit of the interests of the United States in the rapidly changing countries of Southeast Asia; Communicate the friendship of the people of the United States and their support for the aspirations of ASEAN, its member nations and its peoples. More
